The images are a digital reproduction of a handwritten letter and accompanying translation donated by Kathy Sa'ade Kenny. <div><br></div><div>In this letter Jiryes Farhat's advises his son Suleiman Farhat on how to handle his wife Katrina Sa'ade and her family who he depicts as being ungrateful and insular. He tells Suleiman to overrule his wife when she does not obey him as 'women are lacking in intellect and religion'. At this stage Suleiman and Katrina were living and working in California, US with their children.
