<div><div><div><div>POOR QUALITY AUDIO.<br>Musa Abd al-Karim (born in 1907, from Bethlehem) is interviewed by Sahdi Saber - 26 May 1995.</div><div><br></div><div>Talks about the Ottoman period and how the Ottomans used to steal food and wheat from local people to feed the army; discusses the great snow of 1920 which lasted for a whole month causing great difficulties and shortages of food; during the great snow people used to keep warm by buring wood fires; many houses in Bethlehem were ruined by the great snow such as that of Musa Khalil in the souq.</div><div><br></div><div>Original audio recording: cassette tape.<br>Transcript: summary.<br>In the original collection at Bethlehem University this cassette tape was categorised as File 19 of Box 19.</div><div><br></div><div>This fileset exists as part of the 1920 Great Snow & 1927 Earthquake collection within the Bethlehem University Oral History project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.</div></div></div><br></div>
