The image features Josephine Barbagallo's (nee Kattan) son Mario Barbagallo (left) with a male-friend in drag (right) during their time in a P.O.W Camp. During World War Two, Italians were interned in British Prisoner of War camps based in the British territory of Sudan. Mario ended up marrying Maria Cimino, the sister of a soldier who was also held in this P.O.W Camp.
