This is a digital reproduction of an image held at the Library of Congress.
This photograph shows a group of men standing at the entrance to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem dressed in traditional attire. All the men in the image wear the tarbush, a close-fitting, flat-topped, brimless hat shaped like a truncated cone made of felt and a silk tassel that was popular during the Ottoman period. This is a cropped version of the image held at the Library of Congress.
This image exists as part of the Nativity Church collection within the Library of Congress project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
