This is a digital reproduction of an image held at the Library of Congress.

The photograph depicts the intricately decorated interior of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem which includes many ornate hanging lamps. The church is known as the birthplace of Jesus Christ and therefore holds great religious significance for Christians of various denominations all over the world.

This image exists as part of the Nativity Church collection within the Library of Congress project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
