This is a digital reproduction of an image held at the Library of Congress.

The photograph shows people and donkeys by the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem. The church is located on the spot believed to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ. It is one of the most sacred religious sites in the world. The people in the photograph are dressed in traditional attire such as the head cloth and head rope worn by the man. This is a cropped version of the original held at the Library of Congress.

This image exists as part of the Nativity Church collection within the Library of Congress project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
