Shakib Abdeeb Abdullah al-Nijweh (80 years old - though his wife claims he's a bit older) interviewed by Pauline Nono.
He discusses the following: World War I during the Ottoman period; military conscription suffered by the Arabs caused them to welcome the British conquest; racism of the Ottoman regime and how Palestinians saw the collapse of the Ottoman Empire as liberation; education – not everyone was able to study, women were not allowed to work.
