This transcript is from a phone interview between John Afana and Kathy Kenny, the donor of this project, in July 2011. In the interview John talks about the Afana family who were related to Katrina Sa'ade through her brother-in-law Jamil Afana, who married her sister Jamila. John is Jamil and Jamila's son. He talks about his parents' emigration to the US, some of the challenges they encountered, and the setting up of their shop. See 'relation' for photos of the mother-of-pearl carvings that Jamil Afana and his brothers produced in the US.
