Produced to accompany the 2014 Brighton Photo Biennial, this special issue of Photoworks focuses on ideas of collaboration in photography. A series of conversations are woven around the Biennial projects, focused on the many and varied possibilities of collaboration across a diverse range of fields. In doing so, we offer an inter-disciplinary engagement with photography, drawing voices from anthropology, design, science, politics, critical theory, new media, photographic history and fine art together. By placing contemporary practice in a variety of historical contexts, we also provide collaborations taking place in our own moment with a sense of those that came before.
