Entrepreneurship
book
posted on 2023-06-09, 12:54 authored by John Bessant, Joseph TiddNew ventures that innovate are much more likely to create value, both private and social, but few new ventures are successful, and fewer manage to grow and prosper. Part of the challenge lies in the way we bridge the gap between a great idea and realizing its value, whether commercial or social. We now have a great deal of research understanding about the process of entrepreneurship, and this resource is an attempt to integrate that in a practical fashion for a wide audience. It is targeted at the needs of a growing body of students enrolled in degree programs around entrepreneurship and innovation, but is of interest to a wider group of people concerned with taking ideas forward, whether as start-ups or as part of new ventures within established organizations. We draw upon the latest theories, research, and practice of entrepreneurship, including business model canvas, lean startups, and entrepreneurial effectuation, and propose tools and exercises to support understanding, training, and practice.
