The topics of religion and religious plurality have received increased social attention and relevance in recent years. Debates about secularity and an (anti-secular) return of the religious, tensions between politics and religious communities, controversies about the role of religion in migration and integration processes, and questions about the formation of religious identities are discussed in public. These topics are taken up in the nineteen contributions of the volume and deepened by examples.
