Notes
Le Riche was the lead researcher and co-author (with Hughes) for this unusually extensive study where the data-set includes 1375 cases and covered a 4-year period. The rigorous methodology involves a detailed analysis of decisions made by a multidisciplinary panel about the future of older people being assessed for long term care. The study reports findings from a quantitative analysis of a sample of secondary data and in-depth qualitative interviewing of a selected sample. Findings were disseminated internationally through the World Congress of the International Association of Gerontology, Vancouver 2001; and the British Society of Gerontology Conference, Stirling, 2001.Full text available
