This image is a digital reproduction of a handwritten letter and accompanying transcription donated by William Kattan.
The letter was sent from Hanne Kattan in Bethlehem, writing to her cousin Farida Kattan (nee Kattan) - the wife of Khalil Giries Kattan. At that time Farida was in Sudan, pregnant with her first child, Regina. She would shortly return to Bethlehem to give birth to Regina before returning to Sudan again. Regina died in Omdurman in August 1921, shortly before reaching her first birthday.
