Jiryes Farhat to Suleiman Farhat, 1 April 1934

The images are a digital reproduction of a handwritten letter and accompanying translation donated by Kathy Sa'ade Kenny.

The letter is a message from Jiryes Farhat to his son Suleiman Farhat who was living in California at the time managing his and his wife Katrina's shop. Katrina and the children were living in Ramallah at the time with Jiryes and his wife Miriam. Jiryes describes how Katrina tried to leave Palestine with her son Fred with the help of her family and go back to California. Jiryes reports a dramatic meeting between the two families which involved the police. Issa Farhat scribes.
