This is a digital reproduction of an image held in the Library of Congress.

The image depicts St Jerome's Tree in the grounds of the Catholic St Catherine's Monastery within the Nativity Church complex in Bethlehem. St Jerome translated scriptures from Hebrew and Greek into Latin. The text he produced was the first official vernacular version of the Bible. The image is a cropped version of the original.

This image exists as part of the Bethlehem People and Places collection within the Library of Congress project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
