Figures are generally photos, graphs and static images that would be represented in traditional pdf publications.
This item was collected and donated to the Planet Bethlehem Archive by Leila Sansour.
The image shows an extract from the book 'The Biblical Keepsake: Or, Landscape Illustrations of The Most Remarkable Places Mentioned in The Holy Scriptures', published in 1835. The first extract discusses Bethlehem and what it means to Palestinians. It goes on to discuss the history of Bethlehem and describe its landscape. Page two talks about Bethlehem 'now'/at the time, suggesting it is now a 'poor village, with a population of about three hundred inhabitants, most of whom are Christians'.
This figure exists as part of the Photographs and Prints collection within the Leila Sansour project of the Planet Bethlehem Archive.
