This is a digital reproduction of an image held within the Library of Congress.

Taken in 1934, the image exists as part of a series produced by John D. Whiting. and G. Eric Matson. Whiting was a member of the American Colony in Jerusalem and worked as a tour guide, businessman, writer, and photographer. The image depicts three women stood in a doorway, to the right hand side stands another woman who looks on towards the three women, as a child clings to her skirt. The master copy of this image is accompanied by the caption: 'Trying to get the picture of one girl', indicating that the photographer had been trying to take a picture of only one of them.
