Communication and co-operation between insolvency courts and personnel

Reviews initiatives to encourage cooperation in international insolvencies. Describes the development of North American guidelines, concordats and protocols, including the International Bar Association (IBA) Model International Insolvency Cooperation Act and the Cross Border Insolvency Concordat, and the American Law Institute (ALI) Cooperation Principles and Guidelines. Considers European initiatives, including the Council of Europe Convention on Certain International Aspects of Bankruptcy 1990, the abortive European Insolvency Convention 1995 and Council Regulation 1346/2000. Discusses the OHADA Uniform Insolvency Law and examines the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross Border Insolvency.
