The forum reflects a view from the ground on what is considered to be a pertinent and deeply personal issue among international research students, and also an issue of concern for the higher-education sector in the UK: that of the recently announced cutbacks for student immigration in the UK. In this forum, four international research students from institutions across the globe, including two that are studying in the UK, share their varied and rich views on how this policy decision may have wide-ranging effects for the UK, both within the higher-education sector and for the UK economy and society more widely. Three of these contributions are reflections on the issue through a personal experiential lens, and one is a more objective analysis
