Fixed points of quantum gravity

Euclidean quantum gravity is studied with renormalization group methods. Analytical results for a nontrivial ultraviolet fixed point are found for arbitrary dimensions and gauge fixing parameters in the Einstein-Hilbert truncation. Implications for quantum gravity in four dimensions are discussed.

NotesA new ultraviolet fixed point is detected in four and more dimensions. New analytical RG equations for gravity are derived, solved and discussed; relevance for physics at hadron colliders is emphazised. Our approach has been taken up subsequently by all other groups in this field. It has over 50 citations.
