Parole criteria, parole decisions and the prison population: Evaluating the impact of the Criminal Justice Act 1991
This article examines the effects that the new criteria for parole, introduced in 1992, have had on decisions made by the Parole Board and estimates the impact that changing paroling practice is likely to have on the prison population when the changes introduced by the Criminal Justice Act 1991 come fully into operation.
