Retention of Pt->B Bonding in Oxidative Addition Reactions of the Platinaboratrane [Pt(PPh3){B(mt)3}](Pt¿B)10 (mt = Methimazolyl)
journal contribution
posted on 2023-06-07, 20:02 authored by Ian CrossleyIan Crossley, Anthony F Hill, Anthony C WillisThe platinaboratrane [Pt(PPh3){B(mt)3}](PtB)10 (mt = methimazolyl) is prone to oxidative addition reactions with a range of substrates (Cl2, Br2, I2, HCl, CH3I) without disrupting the platinum-boron dative bond, as illustrated by the first structurally characterized platinaboratranes [PtH(PPh3){B(mt)3}]Cl(PtB)8 and [PtI2{B(mt)3}](PtB)8.
