The black hole masses in galactic nuclei

journal contribution
posted on 2023-06-07, 19:22 authored by David Axon
We review recent progress in dynamically measuring the black hole masses in nearby galactic nuclei. Some of the outstanding issues for both the gas disk and stellar dynamical methods are outlined and the impact of high SIN integral field spectrograph studies is emphasized. The importance of obtaining reverberation mapping measurements at higher redshift is discussed.
