George Harb Photos

Posted on 2019-06-03 - 13:35 authored by Freja Howat-Maxted
This collection is made up of digitised photographs from George Harb's personal collection. The materials have been digitised by the Planet Bethlehem Archive.

Renowned speech maker of Bethlehem, George Harb, has donated a collection of images that document life in Bethlehem from the 1920s to the present day. An elected member of the Municipal Council for 18 years and teacher of Arabic at the Frères school (the first in the region to go co-ed), Harb’s rich collection records Bethlehem’s political visitations and events; opening ceremonies in and around the city; as well as more personal family photographs of weddings and gatherings.

This collection is part of the George Harb project within the Planet Bethlehem Archive (click on the Related Project link below to explore the wider project).
